Forum: GratefulDead Subject: A Remarkable Idea

I came up with a great idea the other day and I will share it with the members of this forum. I would like to create a Grateful Dead website that would provide unequaled access to almost every show the band played, streaming, for free. The site will also host a forum titled "Grateful Dead". In this forum nothing will be off limits and there will be no moderation. I will encourage the exchange of vicious insults as well as religious persecution. I will also be encouraging posts that contain endless diatribes about political views that are intended to prove to all members that the author is somehow smarter than they are. I will also be encouraging posts that insult other members families as well as their children. I think this idea is a winner, and the Grateful Dead community really needs something like this.

yeah well, welcome to the internet, it has its ups and downs, but in my take, this LMA GD forum is FAR less disturbed than most any other public forum (ever read some of the horror show comments elsewhere? ... this place is candyland in comparison)

and since you're only recently in these parts, stick around if you've a mind to, lots of good people here, lots of sharing, lots of informative threads that rise above; you either get it or you don't

one last point: this might not be the "The Kindest Place On The Internet" but at least WE have He_Lives

Much as I would like to viciously insult and persecute you for interrupting this thread, I have to agree on the 'Candyman' here. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to point out that you are a scum-sucking reptile for not mentioning that the China/Rider is also amongst the best ever.

Good to see you make an appearance, Mr. Not. I agree with your sentiments regarding our little dysfunctional family here. Are we always on topic? No. Are we always kind and considerate of all? No. But who the hell is? As I've said many times, this little place reminds me of pre-show gatherings in parking lots around the country. Hundreds of seperate conversations, most related in some way to the Dead, but also many branching off into numerous topics, with some ending in acrimony. No one is perfect and this place is a good example of it. I don't encourage nor endorse any personal attacks, but I understand that this is a risk run whenever you have a place where free discussion is encouraged. And as pointed out, I've come across many other boards that make us look like disciples of Mother Teresa.

The responses to my post were awesome. I agree that the internet is a fucked up place, and I love it. Now, all of you go have a Clementine at The Crystal on me...

I think it's a great idea. You should start it up.
You and your couple a hundred screen name friends
could hang there all day and night.
You could trash talk and insult yourself 24-7 all
while only streaming the show's from the years
you want to hear. Just think... It all could be yours!
